vocation, priesthood or religious
   This word (from the Latin vocare, meaning "to call") refers to a calling from God to lead aChristian life of service either in the ordained priesthood or in a religious community. Such a vocation requires personaldiscernment on the part of the individual about the genuineness of his or her vocation and the approval of the appropriateecclesiastical authorities.
